Literature Question

Learning Goal: I’m working on a literature writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

4 full page minimum, double spaced, typed in 12pt font, title in center

“An Abundance Of Katherines” by John Green

There is 5 phases and you may use creative freedom in each with following guidelines

Phase 1: Pick a quote from the book that sums up the overall message of the book. Explain the context of the quote, then thoroughly discuss how and why this quote sums up the book. As well as a brief summary of the book intertwined with the discussion quote.

Phase 2: Pick a theme song for the book, the track should both connect with the content and mood of the book, the entire set of lyrics is not needed, but there must be a detailed discussion of how the lyrics and tone of the song match the book. Specific lyrics should be included and linked to the theme of the book.

Phase 3: Books usually have a chapter of section that is the centerpiece/ focal point of the book, pick a chapter or section and explain why it is so important and what makes it so powerful.

Phase 4: Examine the book for a symbol that stands out from the rest, discuss what the object symbolizes and why it is integral to understanding the book.

Phase 5: What are the enduring themes of the book? Provide clear points that are supported with evidence from the book. The most amount of time should be spent of this section. At least two enduring themes should be discussed, description of theme and how its still usable today.
