An integral component of the ability to make strategic decisions is to have an educated understanding of the environmental aspects that can impact an organization. The internal and external environments most both are examined. As you have learned through your assigned readings, the external environment represents factors that are outside of an organization’s control while the internal environmental factors can be more controlled within the four walls, per say, of the organization.

ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

This week’s assignment will entail an analysis of the six principal components of the macro-environment. Each of these components is representative of the external environment.

• You are to once again refer to your chosen organization(Target) when discussing each of these principles and how these factors have affected the organization.
• If in your research, you have not found the information you need for one or two of these components, I encourage you to not see this as a problem, but an opportunity to examine the organization yourself and see what strategy, if you were in charge, you would put in place to lessen the impact of this factor.
• Don’t forget that the organization itself is a valuable resource! Don’t be afraid to call, introduce yourself and your purpose, and ask the questions you need answers to.
