Assignment #3: Educational Neuroscience and Cognitive Science or Mathematics Lesson Re-design
Description: Teachers should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the curriculum content required to teach their courses. They should be able to provide multiple learning experiences through engaging and challenging lessons so that all students can learn and achieve mastery. In this assignment, the experienced teacher will develop learning experiences that require students to demonstrate a variety of applicable skills and competencies by integrating current information and communication technologies. The teacher will also 1) re-design and align activities that reflect the use of current educational neuroscience, cognitive science, and mathematics research to identify and sequence mathematics learning activities; 2) model mathematics strategies and activities to address the different learning profiles and needs of all students; and 3) encourage the respect for diverse ideas, skills, and experiences of students among their peers.
Directions: The teacher will re-design three lesson activities. Secondly, select one of the three redesigned lessons to peer-teach to the class.
