Web hosting services allow a website to run on a server via a third party. Web hosting services remove the need to maintain the required hardware since a third party is responsible for this maintenance. Should anything go wrong with your website’s server, the web host will handle the problem. A stable IP address is provided by web hosting, giving your website a reliable for communication and remote access.
If you wish to host your website in the cloud, you should begin by understanding your budget and hosting needs. After this, you should research web hosting providers. You need to understand what each provider offers and ensure they will be reliable and safe hosts. The last thing you want is to have your web host turn out to be unreliable and suffer a breach in security. Once you have chosen a provider, you must select a hosting type and plan, then register your domain.
Some web hosting services for businesses include BlueHost, GoDaddy, HostGator, and A2 Hosting.

While researching web-hosting servers, I found a website(5 Reasons Why Web Hosting Is Important for Your Website | Techiediaries, 2020). This website has a lot of great information explaining why web-hosting servers are essential to businesses in general, not only small businesses. A company should consider web hosting for many reasons, but a few include a safe server environment, data storage, customer service, speed, and customizable pricing/options. These web-hosting servers can be a good option for small businesses because the pricing/ options are available depending on precisely what the company needs rather than giving too much or little. Speed is essential to a customer since it can be irritating for a customer to have to deal with a slow website because the small business cannot keep a large server that can operate at high speeds for everyone using it. All of these options mentioned can be picked during the steps of setting up a website through a web-hosting server. These steps are as follows:

1. Choose a hosting type.
2. Choose a hosting provider.
3. Choose one of their plans.
4. Register the domain name (website name).
5. Do the fine-tuning of the plan that was chosen with that server provider.

A few web hosting services for small businesses include but are not limited to:

• BlueHost
• HostGator

• InMotion
• Cloudways

A significant benefit to small businesses of the services listed is the prices. All these server hosting services have plans starting lower than $11, making it easy for a small business without much overhead to create a small website that can later grow into the larger, more expensive plans available

I rewrote this assignment several times; I hope I am answering this correctly. It wasn’t easy to talk through this Process by going beyond DNS, HTTP, web server, and TCP/IP protocol. I am interested to see what everyone shares.

One of the easiest ways to find a website is by entering the web address into the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Every webpage has an individual URL (web address). The hypertext transfer protocol Secure (HTTPS) is used in the World Wide Web to securely transfer webpage data from the web server to the browser. To access content from the web browser, the web page URL translates to the corresponding IP address, which occurs by the DNS server as it is responsible for managing the Domain Name System (IONO, 2019).

When a web address gets entered in a browser’s search bar, the browser looks for the requested domain in its cache. It requests the operating system’s DNS server to find the required IP address if not found. When the IP address of the webpage is identified, the browser requests the relevant data for the page from the appropriate web server. The request happens via HTTP as a data packet containing all the information the web server needs to deliver the webpage data (IONO, 2019).

The browser communicates the IP address of the chosen webpage and provides information on the operating system, itself, and the device on which the webpage should be displayed. The router adds its own public IP address as the sender and forwards the packet to the public internet (IONO, 2019). The web server processes the information and transmits an HTTP status code. Should the request be successful, the server sends a data packet to the web browser with all the information required for the page.

This week’s interactive assignment proved a bit confusing for me because of the phrasing of the question; so here is my best attempt to explain past TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and Server.

When the user in Europe enters the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) or Internet Protocol (IP) address of the American server, a process running in the browser called the Domain Name System (DNS) client creates a DNS request. The request is processed by something called the DNS resolver; a program responsible for finding the IP address for the submitted hostname.

If the address is not in the local DNS cache, then the DNS makes a request to the Internet Service Providers (ISP) DNS; either through the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or User Datagram Protocol (UDP). If the ISP’s DNS does not have the domain in its cache, it sends a request to a server known as the “root name server”.

The root name server is a name server for the root zone of the DNS for the entire internet. The root server stores domain records in a file called a “DNS zone file”. This file maps domain names to IP addresses. Six primary types of DNS zone files exist: A and AAAA, Canonical Name, Mail Exchange, Name Server, and Start of Authority.

Once the IP address of the site is found, a request to the URL destination server to send its IP back to the ISP DNS is made. This is finalized with the local DNS resolver updating its cache on the host computer, and a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) request for the target page. The target server then responds in by producing the appropriate response for the requested page, returning all of the necessary HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
